Cara a Cara

Went to the dive site Cara a Cara ( Face to Face) to swim the sharks. Had a nice group of Carribean Reef Shark join us for some morning chum... Absolutely amazing animals.... made swim and eat. Great time. We were at the very edge of the reef system and the current caused the dive to end suddenly. The 16 people on the dive had to make their way to the surface on the mooring line. Legs flailing in a very stiff current like flag on a windy day. Not very pleasant and a bit tense to be sure.

The afternoon dives were far more sedate. Golden Chain reef. Beautiful gold reef system at 25 feet made for a nice relaxing dive. Then a tour of the sail boats and to Newman's Wall.

Tonight look like night diving is calling.

Way cool, Stu. Looks like you and Dave are having a fantastic time. The shots of the sharks are hard to believe.. were you guys nervous at all being that close without some sort of underwater cage, etc?
Sounds like the weather wasn't that great to start, how are things now?
My buddy Chad and I are doing a 75-mile mt bike race this summer in Wisconsin, you and Dave should come up for that. It's a team race (splitting the 75 in half) but it's also an individual race. That would be a blast! Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your trip!

Hey Stuart,
Looks like you are having the time of your life. Love the photos. Hope to see you soon at school. Can't wait to hear stories about what it was like to be in the water with the sharks. I am too afraid to swim in the ocean let alone go looking for a shark. CYA soon!
